Thieves & Cons

Complete trash. Never showed up with the full trailer. Used a Uhaul instead, then told me I had to pay for another truck to be sent in to get the rest to transport to semi. They steal more money from me, damage most of my stuff and shows up in 2 uhauls. They never had a truck, they lied on the estimate, they broke most of my stuff and won’t let me file a claim. They stole an additional $1700 the day of drop off and held my belongings hostage unless I paid. Tony is a thief and Rachel is an incompetent slut.

Long-distance move from Louisiana to Utah

Extortion racket.

It's hard to put into words just how terrible this company is, but here goes. Sorry it may be a long post BUT if you are considering this company I urge you to read and heed.

Moving daughter in law and granddaughter from LA to UT. They had about 55 boxes, not much. Top Country gave us a quote for $1600. We paid a $600 down payment and they were agreed to pick her stuff up on Jul 30. We got them plane tix for Jul 31st.

The morning of Jul 30th they call and say oops, sorry, can't move you today. It was too late to change tix so we arranged for DIL's friend to handle move.

Sun Aug 2 the driver calls DIL and now says it is $3200 because there was 3x as much as she said. They also charged us $300 for "packing." See picture. This is what they "packed." They literally put tape around a few things, including suitcases that were zipped and secure, and charged $300.

For the next 3 weeks I dealt with Tom, Victoria, Rachel, and Sara at Top Country. At first Tom was all "That's BS I'll get to the bottom of it." 2 days later no call back. Call and he directs me to Victoria. Again she seems sympathetic at first and promises to find out what's going on. Days later they never call back so I have to call. This went on for WEEKS. They would promise to "contact the driver" and call me back but never did. Then they would get mad at me when I called them days after they promised to call me. I was even accused of "badgering" them.

So we finally get a delivery date (that's another thing - was promised stuff in 3-4 days but it took 27 days to arrive). Victoria agrees to have the movers unload the stuff, I would take a pic of it with measurements, and then she would determine (based on cubic feet) what the price is. The day comes and they're not going to deliver it until 9:00 pm local time. I call Victoria to confirm she will be available at that time and she is rude. Says "Nope. You have to pay them. They won't even open the door until you do." I asked well what about your promise to look at the pics to see what the issue was in pricing and she DENIED ever saying she would do it.

Some other issues - the movers never provided an inventory to my DIL's friends who supervised the move. They also never provided the inventory to Top Country's home office until the day of the move. All this time they were telling me she had nearly 80 items, not 55. When I FINALLY got the inventory sheet the day of the move, the items were numbered 211 to 274, which is 64 items, not much more that the initial estimate of 55. They LIED the entire time to jack the price up on me. Tom had the audacity to tell me "this price is a steal" without a hint of irony. I moved 9x in 21 years in the military so I know what moves cost. Three years ago I moved from AR to UT and a guy filled a 26 foot truck with my stuff AND towed my car for $2800. Yet TCM charged me more to move stuff that would not have even filled a 15' U-Haul, no heavy items like furniture and not even a TV. Just boxes of clothes and personal items and granddaughter's books and toys. This company is an extortion racket stay far far away.

Long-distance move from Ann Arbor, MI to Shrewsbury, MA

Worst Moving Company!!

I’ve had the WORST moving experience with TOP COUNTRY MOVING! IT WAS A TOTAL RIP-OFF!! It was a NIGHTMARE ever since they began to move and it lasted for more than 2 days! From PACKING TO LOADING TO COMMUNICATION/NEGOTIATION, Top Country Moving did a POOR/WORST job. The movers were HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL! – see pics below for reference. I 100% agree with Jacob Clover’s review. ‘I promise you that if you even consider hiring this company it will be the worst decision you will ever had made.’ DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR SALES PITCH! Once the movers began to pack, there was NO COMMUNICATION between the dispatch manager (Adam), the movers during the entire process! He failed to check the status of the move and wasn’t aware of the situation until Sunday night/Monday morning! POOR MANAGERIAL AND OPERATIONAL SKILLS! HIS INABILITY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE MADE A BIG MESS!

Out of the two movers, one of them was extremely unprofessional, had an attitude, was not willing to listen or follow directions. They spent a total of 19hrs (Saturday – 3:30pm – 10:00pm; Sunday – 9am – 9:30pm) and were able to get only 40% of the job done! The movers didn’t even wear gloves throughout the entire process!!

LOADING: The truck was from Ryder company, which has the max capacity 1600 cubic ft. They’ve only filled about 50% of the truck and stated that it occupied 1339 cubic ft. They were constantly arguing about this. The below pic shows my stuff and the dotted line represents the cut-off. Any logical person would question the integrity of this situation. How can the dotted line represent 84% (1339 cubic ft/1600 cubic ft)?? The dispatch manager (Adam) failed to resolve this issue! HE FAILED to question the movers, Instead of acting as a liaison between the customer and the packers, he arranged a conference where I had to deal directly with the movers! He wasn’t supportive or helpful.

POOR PACKING: As you can tell from the few pictures below, they packed and loaded my king size bed and queen size bed but left the additional, important elements (What if these get misplaced? I cannot even assemble the bed!!) They barely touched my kitchen stuff and left all the stuff out (see pic below). They were suppose to pack 25 boxes of kitchen stuff and only started packing 1 box, which they didn’t even load! Didn’t finish the job, left the entire house in a mess! What exactly did they do in those 19hrs?

The END RESULT: They’ve only loaded some of my stuff (left MAJOR ITEMS out) and told me that I had to close this contract and begin a new contract and pay ~$2,000 to load the remaining items as they ran out of space! $2,000 is more than 30% of my initial quote!!

3rd day: Even after an entire day of back and forth discussion, Adam, dispatch manager, FAILED to resolve the issue, as they’ve stated that I still have to pay additional amount ($2000 to $1950 to $850) to move the remaining items that is on the inventory list, which they were suppose to move to begin with. This is clearly a SCAM to ask for more money as they failed to provide documentation of the size of the truck, failed to justify that the truck occupied 84% of the truck, when the pic clearly shows that it only had ~50%, left the job mid-way, and the MOVERS WERE HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!

I understand that this is a very long review but I am hoping that my review would help you make an informed decision when choosing a moving company. Moving suppose to be HASSLE FREE experience, esp. when you pay over $6000. The experience with the TOP COUNTRY MOVING has been a NIGHTMARE! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TOP COUNTRY MOVING!

The Worst.

We paid over 10k to move from VT to GA. About 1/2 of our items were smashed— movers came to deliver our items after 7pm in pouring rain and were here until almost midnight.. (after me asking for them to come following day because of the weather) boxes labeled FRAGILE were upside down and boxes smashed..they were rude and left trash in the front of my new home. (I couldn’t tell bc it was almost midnight. ) RUDE and delivered my items after numerous texts begging. THE WORST> NEVER AGAIN.

Suck service

The beginning it was great and nice to me good price but the guy who quoted me since I paid the deposit$695 now cannot be reach. 10-29-20 carrier pick up my furnitures and give $877.50 cash I ask for receipt the guy just ignored me and left my house, beside that pick up guy asking for $700 extra of course I did not give. Now we are back in California 11-04-20 I called top country to give my exact address because I put down the papers priority delivery date 11-09-20, days passed nothing I got a called from carrier asking more money because they are denying the money I give to the pick up guy cash $877.50 that’s why they did not give me receipt they have plan to SCAM ME, I give another $400 checks then I called again top country because it’s hard to deal with Carrier, they told me I put down priority date 11-15-20 that’s why it’s delay liar!!! They are liar, scammer, and using my furnitures to hostage I did complain them already to MOVERS RESCUE according to them not supposed to ask more than 1/2 of the balance but they do I give almost paid off because we want our furnitures deliver hoping sooner, my husband and I very stressed out of this until now it’s already November 29, 2020 1 month since they pick up my furnitures according to them still in Kansas I don’t know why they holding this long I am so mad Top Country and Carrier same don’t care costumers not helpful so guys never never use this company is stressful!!!

SCAMMERS

First the company raised the price $2,000 2 days before move and then showed up and scratched hardwood floors everywhere and put holes in walls. Also damaged all our stuff, wouldn’t wear a mask, and they were extremely rude and cussing at us, and then didn’t load all our stuff and when they “finished” loading told us that we have to pay another $2105 on top of the rest that we paid. Told them that we were paying extra and it was already on the truck and said we don’t have a choice or they’d keep our stuff. Still waiting on delivery from the company, won’t respond or talk to us on the phone, their contracts specially states that if we don’t go over the original inventory they won’t charge extra, which we didn’t. The 2nd contract they gave us raising it another $2105 after it was already on the truck specifically states that it has to be done before loading anything and it wasn’t. They didn’t give us a choice on paying extra and damaged tons of items. The biggest scam I have ever seen and once they have your stuff there’s nothing you can do. They told us they will be keeping our stuff if we don’t pay the revised price. I don’t see how a company can load all your stuff and then just be like, “by the way your paying more whether you like it or not.”. The ended up taking 27 days to deliver and were supposed to give a 48 hour notice but called an hour before on a Sunday night at 6, and then came around 7:15ish Sunday night. Then wouldn’t accept our Wells Fargo money, only a postal money order. Obviously the post office isn’t open so they made us pay a $500 redelivery fee to come back the next money. Every piece of furniture is damaged, every tv is broken and one tv didn’t even show up. There were countless items destroyed and the guy dropping off said not one thing was wrapped. He showed up in the same size truck and our load didn’t even take up half of the truck. He had 2 other loads with it were as the pickup guys could barely close the door. We talked to him and he said he knows the guys who loaded and said they don’t know what their doing. He said we never should’ve been charged extra on pickup as it was their own incompetence that caused the overage. We have both pickup and drop off all on video and the drop off is all audio recorded by our security cameras. We never should’ve had to pay that extra $2,311 per their own driver. They post their own fake reviews all over to try and trick people. They even had to take down their Facebook page because of all the people calling out their fake reviews and all the bad ones piling up.

Worst experience of my life

PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. IT'S A SCAM. They have an F rating on BBB. They hire criminal companies like Konami Moving and storage to move your items. My items, along with most other people's will show up broken, water damaged, and stolen. The only reason part of my items showed up was because of the 3 news segments I did on them on FOX 4 investigates. The company they frequently use, Konami Moving, has a class action law suit against them. Top Country sends them clients directly so you aren't able to look them up beforehand to see the horrible reviews on them. They are known for breaking and stealing customers items. I only received part of my items after calling them around 5 times a day for 30 days. Don't use this company.

Long-distance move from Salt Lake City, UT to Leander, TX

Worst moving experience of my life!

If I could do a negative star I would!

I can only start by saying, do not get a third part moving company. Do it yourself. They make you “hurry” through your contract, (which means you better know EXACTLY how much stuff you have to move before contacting.) they charged a fee on the phone, (quoted $2,800 for a three bedroom four states move) then call a week before, (can’t get ahold any other way besides wait for them to contact you) and charge more, due to not having the right amount of boxes/furniture in the contract, charged $1,000 more, due to not being able to read contract when hurried through. They called the day before pickup to only say they can’t make it due to a “broken truck”. Then didn’t show up for seven days afterwards, (after I had already turned off services in the house I was living in, and holding onto a uhaul for seven days!) they would not answer phone call, or emails!!! Once they showed up, 3 HOURS later, took my stuff, charged me another $1,000!!!!! told me (after quoting me a 3-4 day wait) said we wouldn’t have our stuff up to 30 days!!!!! Almost three weeks later, finally got our stuff, all totes completely destroyed, couldn’t even help a woman unwrap all of her furniture and set it up!!!! Plus the lady on the phone said it is oky to just call them and make the last of the payment over phone with a credit card, when I was denied and told only cash or money order!!!! By far the worst most stressful experience I have ever dealt with!!! DO NOT GET A THIRD PARTY!!! Just do it yourself. People were all rude! Never again. Due yourself a favor and listen to these one star reviews. They are all true.

Long-distance move from Groton, CT to Liverpool, TX

SCAM

We first booked 6/7/21 with Jason, My husband is in the process of medically separating from the military. Our price was $2800, the movers were suppose to come out the 28/29th of June as that was our requested pick up. We had NO contact with the movers/ company/ anything. Until we started calling. Saturday we called the number given to us and the lady stated that they way under price to get the booking and once the movers come they raise it tremendously. This was our first move without big navy moving us I don’t think I will EVER do it again. I panicked and started selling things after reading some reviews about how they up price everything. The contract i was sent in email states the move was finished on 6/28. On 6/28 we received a phone call from Rachel stating our movers would be here 6/29 between 2-5pm (mind you we have to be out of base housing by the 1st as our flights are that day.) at 4:30 pm we had no contact with the movers. So we called Rachel and asked where they were since we had no contact. She then tells us the truck is delayed and is there any way we can reschedule since it’s not guaranteed and just requested move dates. I said No since those were the dates requested and they failed to contact us I was sketched out to even get them to come. Rachel requested that I cancel the move. I stated no because if I cancel the contract is void you get to keep my deposit but if you cancel I get it back. I asked what the time frame was it’s 3 days by the way. She then called a few more times. Requesting that I canceled and I refused. Within 30 minutes I called my bank and informed them of everything in which she told me to dispute it since it seemed like a scam and they couldn’t prove they ever picked my things up. I Agreed got my deposit back. I got a voicemail from Rachel in a rushed voice saying the movers are available tomorrow morning, and that they could squeeze us in. Right after I get a call from the Mover himself and I told him his services weren’t needed. And he replied so are you canceling? And I didn’t say anything just hung up. (They are VERY adamant on you canceling.) Rachel then called me again and asked if that would work I said no, I wasn’t comfortable using their services so it was not needed. In then she replied “oh so you’re canceling could you just send me that in writing” in which I replied I’m not canceling your services are just not needed. She then got agitated and yelled that’s basically canceling I said OH I’m not canceling. I asked her why my contract I was sent says congratulations on my move when I still have my things? She hung up. I guess they didn’t think I wouldn’t print out my contract. anyways. do not use 100% a scam. The US Dot license says it has been Revoked. What should have been a simple 8 hour flight from CT to TX is now ending in a 30 hour drive.

Company shouldn’t be in business!

Save yourself from broken and missing belongings. Not a trusting Co! Employees lie & hike up prices and can’t even deliver around the time they promise. Tried to file a claim with their insurance and was told by the insurance co they don’t cover them. I’ve tried reaching out to them and “get disconnected” they don’t answer email questions.

Worst ever

PLEASE READ THIS!!!!!!

USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK!! There prices kept changing every time they call, be mindful when they are doing inventory, I told them my TV is 7P inches they put it down for 42inches, they make it sound less but when they a final inventory they will be changing the size and weight of your household goods that increase your payments the last minute, when they know for sure you can't do much due to time left for your move. My stuff were broken and some missing. They either pick up late or drop off late NEVER THE SCHEDULED TIME!!. I ignored other people reviews and I come to regret, please don't ignore this , I would hate to see other people go through what I want through. Please be advised!!

Poor Customer Service, No call back and misleading.

First the quote was mid level when compared to other movers and I unfortunately selected them. Without evening paying for the final delivery it has been nearly 50% more than the quote. I paid for a pack and move. I ended up providing nearly 90% of the boxes. Second, once packed the move was subcontracted out. I was told it would be five days for the first availability date to get the household goods. The goods were not dispatched until after the date of the first availability which was 8 days after the packing. I asked why they would wait to dispatch until after the five business days , when availability was clearly communicated, no logical answer. The sales guys do this run around where they have to get the boss to approve the move, and he says he is going to do you a favor and save you some money, when the reality is it is them doing the good guy scam. The sales guy Eric never called me back, after I signed the contract and texted me to relax and they would contact me within five to seven days before the pick up, it was late afternoon the day before to confirm they would show up. Dispatch personnel weren't tracking the move and monitoring it, and could not provide updates. Again, poor customer service and failure to actually monitor the move or call back. All communication has been me to them directly. I have moved several times with the military and can tell you this is the single worst moving experience in 20 plus years. This is not a company I would recommend or trust to move my goods, let alone return a phone call in a timely manner. I now have to pay for a place to live with no furniture and will either be buying cheap furniture or paying for a hotel further costing more. I'm also being told it could be an additional 21 business days to wait for delivery.

Please take this review seriously and do yourself a favor and not use this company. I'm now looking at this move from Boston to San Francisco to be nearly 15-17K when the quote was 10K. This is not with the additional rent paid for an apartment that will be empty or the cost of hotels during the wait for the dispatch of goods.

Never use this company.

We contracted with TCM a month or so ago. They assigned us to Royal Star Movers in Denver to move a one-bedroom from Denver to Philadelphia. They packed us up on July 14 and said the contents would be delivered in 7-10 working days. It's been about 12 working days and no one seems to know where the "truck" is. First it was going to arrive on July 20. Then it was this Friday, the 31st. Now, they "think" it's in Ohio and it may be next week or later. TCM can't seem to get an answer from them either. These two companies are bad news and completely unreliable.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Londonderry, NH

Worst company on the planet.

I can't put into words just how awful this company is. Not only did it take almost a full week to get my stuff from NYC to NH, but when it did arrived it was totally trashed. I had paid for the company to "pack" my items, but they did nothing of the sort. My china was destroyed -- plates, bowls, glass, etc were put in boxes with just a piece of paper between them. So, naturally, when the boxes arrived, it was nothing but pieces of china everywhere. I was able to salvage two plates, one bowl, and one side dish out of a setting for six. Most of my glass frames were broken, destroying the art work underneath, an antique lamp was destroyed by something sharp, and my TV was never recovered. When I asked about the TV on the day my things arrived, the mover proceeded to accuse me of accusing him of stealing which was not the case. I was merely questioning if it was in the back of the truck or if it had been dropped off at another site.

To make matters worse, when I went to file my claim, the paperwork I needed to do so just magically disappeared from their site. So now I have thousands of dollars in damage, artwork from my grandmother that's destroyed, and no way to be financially compensated for the losses. If you're looking to move choose ANY company in the world except this one. They are off the charts careless and have zero empathy for the damage they cause. I'd give them a negative star rating, if that was an option. Any of these positive reviews have definitely been posted by employees.

I hate having to move. It was very hard for me After 30+years in the same home, but the people at top country moving truly made all the difference. The women I spoke to in their customer service were wonderful. I was able to get my quote and move booked with minimal back and forth. The movers were complete gentlemen. Anxiety Attacks Averted!!

I have extremely high anxiety and although my move was small just thinking about it was ruining my life. My older sister referred me to Top Country Moving and THANK GOD she did. They basically handled everything.. all I had to do was pick up the phone and give them a list of my stuff and magically it was done! I didn't have to keep calling or hunt them down. They actually stayed in contact with me up until my move! After being quoted such a good price I was half expecting problems and delays but the day of my move 2 men showed up right on time and took excellent care of all my things. My stuff was packed up, driven and moved into my new place in less time then I was expecting the packing to take!! it was such a relief. I even referred my other sister to use them for her move later this month.

Unreasonably Unprofessional and LATE!

Communication with this company has been god awful. I was told i'd get my belongings within a few days and now its been over a month and no response as to when I'll receive them. They use a third party moving company who are uncontactable and customer services reps are rude. I have reason to believe this company is a scam, my stuff is lost, or sitting in someones home. Do not use them if you care about your belongings or like to sign contracts with movers who will uphold their obligations. I have been sitting in my new apartment with nothing and it is disheartening to feel as though there is no one I can speak to who can give me answers. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau and possibly more!

Long-distance move from Carlsbad, CA to Westfield, MA

Dishonest Moving Company Lies to you on the phone.

We Hired Top County Moving company for my mother in law on 7/1/2020. We placed a $726.00 deposit and paid another 1200.00 in cash as well as $4000.00 on my mother in laws credit card on the day of pick up after they filled the truck and told us we owed more money on 7/19/2020 in Carlsbad California and have them moved to Westfield Massachusetts. We requested a delivery date of 7/28/2020. I have called the company many times for updates. They always say let me call dispatch and I will call you back, which they don't call back. They have not called to update me without my calling them several times a week. We are paying $8821.62 dollars to have her belongings moved and feel that this company is less then professional. The first week of August I called to get an update they told me the delivery was delayed due to some part not coming in on time for the truck and that the driver called out sick. I asked if they only had one driver, they said no we have several but they were all out on deliveries. I called the following week and was told that the truck left I called on 8/20/2020 to find out where my mother in laws belongs were and we were told that the delivery truck was stuck in Illinois and they would call me when the items were in route. The call never came and the manager Victoria has hung up on me when I have voiced my feelings that this is unacceptable service. This company has told us that it can take anywhere from 5-21 business days to deliver the items. That was not explained to me when I called. We were not told that weekends do not count in the time frame for delivery. I was asked when the first delivery date was that we wanted her stuff. When the 21 business days came, I called and asked what they were going to do and Victoria told me that they have 30 calendar days to deliver. I let Victoria know that the 30 calendar days and the 21 business days were the same date. They said they give back $20 dollars per day that they are over their contract deliver time frame. That is incredibly low considering they are charging her $8821.62 with her supposed to be paying the remaining $2595.62 upon delivery. My mother in law is living in an empty house with only a bed that she had to go out and buy so she had a place to sleep. My husband and I are not over 60 but my mother in law is and these are her belongings and she is paying this bill. They also charged us a lot more than the quote, but she had more boxes then we anticipated and it was not told to us till after they had loaded the truck. We feel that this company is not providing the type of service the sales person described. They are rude and keep giving excuses on why it’s not here. I decided to call the actual shipping company on 9/1/2020 to find out where they stand with the delivery because the company that we booked with keeps telling us it will be another 5-7 days with no real reason for the delay. The actual shipper told me that the items have not even left California yet they are still in the warehouse. I asked why I was told more than two and a half weeks ago that the items were in Illinois she said she has no idea why they told us that when the items are still sitting in the warehouse. The woman that answered was polite and said that they are behind and that my mother in laws belongings will be leaving either this Thursday the 3rd or Friday the 4th. We feel that Top Country Moving should have better communication with its customers and not hang up on them or send the calls directly to voice mail when they are upset because their items were not delivered when they were expected. I do not feel like we should have to pay the additional $2595.62 for the delivery when this company has had every opportunity to be honest and forthcoming with updates on the status of our delivery. They have blatantly lied to us over the past 2 months, they were not forthcoming with clear and concise information about how the whole process works. The employee Victoria has not been helpful or even courteous. She has talked over me as well as down to me and hung up on me when I have asked to speak to a manager or someone above her when she says she is the manager. We are yet to receive my mother in laws belongs and it is now 9/2/2020.

Long-distance move from Morgantown, WV to Nashville, TN

Scam.

Nightmare company from hell. This was easily the worst encounter I have ever had working with any business for any reason. From day one until they finally brought my stuff over a month later, every word spoken to me has been half truths and lies. You WILL pay more than the price they quote you, they WILL NOT send someone to pick up your stuff on time, they WILL deliver your belongings WEEKS later than the time they quoted you. I was only moving from West Virginia to Tennesse. Even the delivery driver hated them for packing his truck overweight for which he received a fine. Thankfully, all my stuff arrived intact including a number of boxes that do not belong to me, and they have made zero effort to come collect the boxes that aren't mine. Everyone involved with this company deserves to be in jail.

Long-distance move from Jersey City, NJ to Pittsburgh, PA

Mismanaged expectations and ongoing delays.

We are currently having a very unpleasant experience managing our move through Top Country and I would not recommend booking a bad faith third-party moving broker like this to anyone I know.

While the individual sales and customer representatives are kind and professional, Top Country mismanaged our expectations on the front end and has kept us in the dark for the full duration of our move. We are moving from New Jersey to Pittsburgh and were told by a sales rep that the move would almost certainly be complete within 24 hours, that we would be contacted to confirm our inventory a week in advance, and that 24 hours before our move date we’d receive a confirmation of our movers’ arrival date and window.

Instead: we were contacted for inventory 3 days out after repeatedly contacting Top Country ourselves; we had to call THEM, less than 12 hours before our move, in order to receive confirmation that a mover had been booked; they gave us a window of 8-10am and the movers were MIA until almost noon (again, no communication from Top Country about this- we had to reach out to them). The movers explained that they had only received Top Country’s assignment THAT MORNING and had gotten there as soon as possible.

Even more frustratingly, our belongings are now being held by the movers, with delivery windows repeatedly set and then delayed, for 7 days. We anticipate further delays as our move has so far been rescheduled three separate times. Each time the customer service representative has told us vaguely that “they would talk to the mover” and nothing changed. When I asked to file a complaint today, the customer service representative said that no discount would be applied and that even if they held our belongings for THIRTY DAYS, Top Country would not be in breach of contract. Unbelievably frustrating.

We’ve probably called Top Country upwards of thirty times over the course of this week and were sent to voicemail, during regular business hours, roughly 1/3 of the time. The way that this routine, one-bedroom move is being managed is completely unacceptable and we will never be using their services again.

Long-distance move from Lake Oswego, OR to Minneapolis, MN

Duped!

I had a very negative experience with this company during my move in July. I am just adding my review now as it took me this long to cool off.

Can you say Bait and Switch/ Good Cop/Bad Cop. I am on a very limited budget and went with this company as they assured me of their years of experience and the quote was (I felt) reasonable. Well, my initial quote tripled and I was unable to reach either of the guys that gave me my initial and final quote to see if I had any options.

I was roped in and felt that I didn't have a choice but to continue with this company as I had already given them 2 deposits and my move was imminent.

I finally contacted customer service ( who "tried" to help) but to no avail.

I don't usually like to write anything negative, but I felt that there should be some type of recourse for people like me.

Simply put, Beware and do your homework.

Long-distance move from Deerfield Beach, FL to Round Hill, VA

Super impressed!!

They were right on time and called ahead to double check if I was ready for them. Movers were very respectful and made sure to wipe their feet before they got in my place. They worked very quick and came prepared with water bottles. The movers never stopped until I was all moved out. They were especially good about making sure not to bump anything against the walls. I highly suggest using them! They make the move 1000x easier!

Long-distance move from Chicago, IL to Roswell, GA

Moved 6 times in 6 years, once across the ocean, this has been the wor.

It took them 6 weeks from our first available date (July 17th) to bring our stuff from Chicago to Georgia. And the worst thing is, every time we called, we were told that we would have been in the next truck down only to find out after a week that our stuff was still in Chicago. We have been misled so many times. We had a vacation planned a month after the first available date I did not cancel, as we were told they would show up that weekend, of course they did not deliver. So we have lost money for not being able to cancel the vacation on time, and DID NOT to have our stuff delivered.

The movers were irresponsible and left a mess when they left the Chicago condo.

The packages were delivered all ruined and many items were broken, including the bed frame.

We had to procure high chairs and sleeping arrangements for our 8 months old, get new plates and silverware, pots and pans while we waited for them.

We slept on a mattress on the floor for 2 months.

Customer Service kept deceiving us, and justifying themselves by saying “we are just repeating what the actual movers are telling us” Top Country Movers have no saying in where and when your stuff will be delivered, might as well go with directly with a moving company, Top Country Moving just sells your contract and washes their hands of it.

We will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Long-distance move from Sherman Oaks, CA to Tampa, FL

Classic Moving Fraud - ZERO STARS.

Quoted around 4k ended up paying almost 7k.

Absolutely HORRIBLE!! We were pitched by Cody R. and he was of course very polite and even gives you his "direct line" should you have any questions throughout the moving process. He assured me we were in good hands of course. What a joke. The first time I called Cody with a question I did not get a call back. When I called looking for our belongings he promptly put me on hold only to never pick back up. The second you pay the deposit to TC they are DONE. You can see the theme in the reviews.

When it came time for our things to be picked up on 9/15 the movers (Cheetah Movers) said we were already at capacity after loading ONLY HALF of our PREVIOUSLY INVENTORIED items and demanded we pay more.

Of course in addition to forking over more money, we ended up leaving many items behind (fridge, chairs, etc) even though I had already provided a CLEAR and DETAILED inventory to Cody during the estimation process. SCAM!! Classic moving fraud.

We set our earliest delivery date as 9/26 but that is when they actually START the moving process..so here we are across the country thinking our things will be arriving within a week or so to find out they haven't even left California. Throughout the waiting period I spoke to Rachel at TC multiple times requesting a status update and she repeatedly called dispatch and gave us different dates.

The first time we had an actual status was on 10/8 when she confirms they finally left California. We then get a call from Adam H. at TC saying movers will be at our house the following Tuesday at the latest and we would be the first drop off in FL. Tuesday we call Top Country and they said Thursday at the latest. Come Wednesday I call again to be told Saturday. Rachel at TC was so dismissive and even suggested she didn't know where we were getting the original drop off info. We had to provide her the phone number that called us and explain to her that it was from her company. Does. not. care.

From there on the only status updates I was able to get were from calling Eli at Cheetah Movers directly and being my own advocate. Our things finally arrived on Oct 18th at 8PM. Not a great experience there either. Rude and asks you to "be patient"

Both of our toddler play mats were coated in rat urine and had chew marks on them from being in a warehouse for so long. Our washing machine has a massive dent in it and honestly I'm just glad it is over with.

Do yourself a favor and stay away- this company is a nightmare. No customer service and zero regard for you or your belongings. Go direct with a company that doesn't contract your things out. Convinced any positive reviews are employees.
